April 27th, 2006 saw MeAndJo receive press in
Canada’s national newspaper The Globe and Mail. Written by one of Canada’s premier financial writers, authors, and
speakers, Lori Bamber. This full page special information feature titled High Technology: disruptive technologies offer advantages to users – system creators (PDF: 638K) is definitely worth a read!
As we sat down and flipped the pages of our August 2005 issue
of Style at Home, one of Canada’s leading design and decorating magazines, we were pleasantly surprised to see
MeAndJo Vintage Furniture appear on page 36 under the heading Shopping News.
On July 8th, 2005 MeAndJo entered the world
of blog! After receiving our most recent Latest Finds email, local Vancouver graphic designer Jan, from Poppy,
took the time to write a short piece about MeAndJo and our 1960s teak coffee table.
June 7th, 2005 found MeAndJo in the inbox
of Vitamin V subscribers
throughout the Lower Mainland. Vitamin V is known as Vancouver’s online shopping and lifestyle magazine,
so it was a real privilege to be featured under the Tuesday heading!
Flashbacks: The August 12, 2004
issue of the Georgia Straight featured MeAndJo in a fabulous article, Summer Flash Points for Urban Living,
written by Angela Murrills and Janet Smith. This feature also included a nice photo of our 1950s All-Steel nightstand.
July 2004 found MeAndJo
featured in Vancouver Magazine under the heading Where the Buys Are: the city’s not-to-be missed shops. This terrific article was researched and
styled by Redia Soltis and Irina Fainberg.
In the March 15th,
2004 American Airlines magazine called American Way author
Michael Kaplan wrote a great article on what is hot in vintage collectables. Included in this
“Lifestyle” feature was a write-up and photo on MeAndJo’s 1970s plastic Casala chairs.
February 20th, 2004 found photos of pieces as well as comments from
MeAndJo in Canada’s National Post Newspaper. This full-page feature was
written by Sarah Lazarovic and found in the Arts and Life section under the
title Avenue—The Art of You—Living in a Material World.
On August 5th, 2003, CityTV Trends reporter Bill Mantas met with us for our first television interview! The feature was telecast during CityPulse at 6 p.m..
On page 9 of Homes West magazine summer 2003 issue, writer Janet Gyenes takes a tour around the the historic village of Steveston to see what it has to offer. Included in the article was a short bit describing what she found in her first visit to our MeAndJo warehouse.
June 2003 started off with yet
another fabulous feature. On page 70 of the June issue of Country Home Magazine, MeAndJo was written
up in the Dealers’ Corner (JPG 75K). They even managed to squeeze in a terrific snapshot of our business card!
May 2003 ended with a fantastic newspaper
article in the May 31st weekend edition of the Richmond Review. Written by Philip Raphael, the full-page article New Technology, Old Furniture captures the MeAndJo story perfectly!
Jo and I were thrilled to see that MeAndJo was mentioned in the May 2003 issue of
Canadian House & Home magazine. It was a definite treat to be mentioned in one of
Canada’s premier home and style magazines! Thanks to Articles Editor Emily Norris
for including MeAndJo on page 28, In Sites (JPG 91K).
In the April 2003 issue of BC Business Magazine, Lori Bamber’s article
Bear Tamers features five families, one of which is MeAndJo, and how the ravages of the bear market motivated these BC families to live their dreams now.
On March 29, 2001 the Richmond News featured an article, Shopping for Antiques Just Got Easier,
describing how MeAndJo came to be.
A big thank you goes to Lori Bamber & Ted Field (the hosts of Moneyline).
On April 9, 2001 they had us “live” in studio for an interview on starting an Internet business.
Jo and I
were happily surprised when we opened the At Home section and saw the heading GOTTA SEE IT
plus a photo of our orange filing cabinet! Thanks to columnist Susan Balcom for taking the time to
stop by our warehouse and then writing a wonderful article in the December 7th, 2001 paper.
